Accommodation

There are several accommodation sites where we have secured discounts for conference delegates. We have rooms on hold until the 19th June at Medina, Capital Executive Apartments, Olims Hotel and Saville Park Suites.

Each one is 15 minutes or less walk to the Crowne Plaza Conference centre.

When you contact them please state that you are attending the “Wildlife Conference” and that you believe there is a discounted price.

Twenty-two 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartments with either a queen + 2 singles, or 2 queens. Cost is $190 per night (reduced from $240 per night).

You may cancel up to 24hrs prior to your arrival with no charge. Cancellations after this time will incur a fee equal to 1 nights accommodation.

 Any unused rooms will automatically be released back to the hotel on the 19 th of June 2008 without notice.

 Thirty hotel rooms with 2 single beds and an ensuite for $185 per night. Sixty suites with a queen bed, queen sofa bed and kitchen (theoretically sleeps up to 4 people) for $214 per night. These room rates are reduced from the normal rate of $270 and $300 respectively. Booking conditions similar to that of James Court.

11 double rooms available at a cost of $134 (ordinary) or $143 (suite). No booking made. Note: there is one double bed per room. This is not that far to walk but is across the city and not particularly easy walking.

 Several kilometres from the city centre but is serviced by buses

 Twin rooms $120 with cooked breakfast ($100 without) or triple rooms for $145 with cooked breakfast ($110 without).

 

The Crowne Plaza Hotel has accommodation at the upper end of the market but has the advantage of being at the conference venue. We did not secure any rooms.

 

There is also the YMCA (Bush Capital and Wattle Lodge) but it is quite a distance from the venue and there are no regular buses.

For youth hostels and backpackers Google “Youth hostels in Canberra”. there is one about 200m from the Crowne Plaza.
